Title: Devil's Food cupcake with chocolate buttercream
Date Taken: August 24, 2012

Got a chance to try Batter Bakery - their Devil's Food cupcake with chocolate buttercream. It was DELICIOUS *0*. It was very moist, melts-in-your-mouth, and soft! I was really surprised at this cupcake. A definite must-try! I want to try the other things on their menu too~

Title: Rilakkuma Kit Kat
Date Taken: August 18, 2012

Our cousin's piano teacher came back from a trip to Japan and brought back some awesome treats. One in particular being a Rilakkuma Kit Kat! It was pancake flavor, which basically meant it tasted like syrup. It was good, but I don't think I'd be able to eat a lot of it. It's good every once in a while, but I'll stick to the classic Kit Kat ^0^

Title: Pumpkin Curry
Date Taken: August 14, 2012

I went to Osha Thai at Embarcadero with some friends for dinner. I must say, the experience this time was much better than the last (last year in December). Back then we had made a reservation, but still had to wait over an hour because they kept giving our table to other people. Talk about rude! And I'm not sure what I ordered last time, but we did sort of a family-style thing since it was the first time one of my friends had been there. And overall, the experience then had scarred me of ever wanting to go back.

But this time I came, they had the table all set up and ready for us. Oddly, though, my dish came out first so I was awkwardly waiting for everyone elses' food to come (which felt longer than one would normally expect for all dishes to come out for a group of 6). But the Pumpkin Curry with beef (pictured above) was delicious! Still sort of pricey in my opinion (about $20.00 with tip & tax), but it did give me 3 meals so I guess it balanced out.

Title: English Tea Party nails
Date Taken: August 19, 2012

In spirit of the English Teee Pahhteee that I attended at Tal-Y-Tara, I painted my nails blue, red, and white. Here you can see my sad attempt at the Union Jack, as well as a crown.

Colors used:
Blue: China Glaze - Little Drummer Boy
Red: O.P.I. - An Affair In Red Square
White: Sally Hansen - Timeless White & Kiss Brush-on Nail Art

I used one of those nail art stamp plates for the crown (took me 3 attempts to get it that straight!) and help from a thin paint brush for those lines in the Union Jack.

Here's the decor at Tal-Y-Tara (see posts I, II, III) - like I mentioned before, it's not very girly which I liked :) The store is also a Polo Shoppe, so it was very equestrian~

Title: Tal-Y-Tara Tea & Polo Shoppe
Date Taken: August 18, 2012

I went to Tal-Y-Tara Tea & Polo Shoppe yesterday for a friend's bridal shower. I'm not the biggest fan of tea, but it was a nice new place to try out. We tried a variety of teas; Peach Blossom, Midnight in Paris, Kukicha Twig, and Bingo Bango Mango. There was also the Chinese Rose and Cucumber Mint which I didn't personally try, but also circulated amongst the group.

I was surprised by the teas; like I said, I'm not a big fan of tea. But this has really opened up my mind to getting teas in the future. Albeit I like it with a lot of cream/milk and sugar (haha), I was expecting to be disgusted with the teas and end up ordering a latte or water. But it was rather enjoyable.

This place is a hybrid of tea and a polo shoppe - kind of awesome. I know most tea places are really girly and frilly, so I liked the more ruggedness of the decor. More pictures to follow in later posts.

Overall, the people running the shoppe are really nice and polite - it seems like a family business. There was an infant with vivid ginger hair (WEASLEY!!!). Everyone was really welcoming and it wasn't that busy when we went, so it was almost as if we had the place to ourselves ^0^ Side note: parking can be difficult.

The Big Piano! I wanted to dance on it, but felt bad because there were a bunch of kids on it and I didn't want to seem like a gigantic monster -____-;;

Title: Hong Kong Flower Lounge

We went to Hong Kong Flower Lounge a little while back. Doesn't this picture look like we traveled half way across the world? :D This scenery is on their balcony (we were lucky enough to sit right by the window to see)~
